One of the ways we rebranded the campus was creating large scale vinyl banners to hang from buildings and light poles. It was a great way to create brand awareness to visitors and our own community. But vinyl banners fade over time, and they lose their impact. When I came across South grad, Andy Scott, an old-school sign painter who was making a name for himself through his art, I knew I had to get him to paint a mural on campus. Talk about big—the mural measures 69 feet wide, 12 feet tall and now serves as a landmark on campus, a backdrop for selfies and a sign of welcome to all who visit.
But more than a sign, building banners, light pole banners and feather flags are an extension of our brand, adding school spirit and color all over campus.
